APPLE PUFF PASTRY DONUT

️🕒Ready in 30 minutes

👥Serves 4 people.

These Apple Puff Pastry Donuts are healthier than your traditional donuts but taste just as good, if not better! They are baked in the oven so you don't have to worry about frying in hot oil. The sweet cinnamon-coated apples wrapped in flaky puff pastry are baked to golden perfection and topped with a warm vanilla glaze. This quick and easy fall treat is the only recipe you need to feel cozy and warm all through the cold months.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 apples

  • Puff pastry sheets

  • Cinnamon

  • Granulated sugar

  • Egg wash

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. Cut two apples into circular slices and remove the middle.

  3. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a 4:1 ratio and coat your apple slices in it.

  4. Cut a puff pastry sheet into strips and wrap around the apple slices.

  5. Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.

  6. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes.

  7. Optionally you can make a glaze by mixing 1 cup powdered sugar with 3 tbsp milk, a splash of vanilla extract, and a dash of cinnamon.
