This sweet and spicy air fryer bang bang chicken is crunchy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. It's topped with a creamy, flavorful sauce and can be served with rice and a vegetable for a healthy balanced meal! The chicken breast is incredibly juicy and not dry at all and making it in the air fryer instead of frying in oil makes it a much healthier alternative. It takes less than half an hour to make and is a perfect quick and easy family weeknight dinner.
Chicken:
4 boneless skinless chicken breast
2 tbsp smoked paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
Bang Bang Sauce:
1 cup mayonnaise
6 tbsp sweet chili sauce
4 tbsp hot sauce
4 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Preheat your air fryer to 370°F.
Mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion, salt, and pepper and set aside.
Mix together all the ingredients for the bang bang sauce in a separate bowl and set aside.
Cut the top of your chicken diagonally, turn the chicken around, and cut diagonally again.
Rub the seasoning mix onto the chicken. Rub on the top and bottom of the chicken.
Spread a layer of the sauce onto the chicken and coat well.
Cook the chicken in the preheated air fryer for 10-12 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Flip the chicken halfway through. You might have to cook the chicken two at a time depending on the size of your air fryer.
We served our chicken with white rice and sliced cucumbers and garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. You can also enjoy this chicken with quinoa, noodles, avocados or salad. Drizzle some extra sauce on top before serving if desired.
