This Pita Pizza is the perfect shortcut, homemade pizza for your next family pizza night! It's faster than ordering delivery and everyone gets to add their favorite toppings to their own personal pizzas. The pita bread used as the crust in this quick and simple meal idea gets crispy and charred as it bakes in the oven. It's so easy to customize these to make them your new favorite pizzas! First, choose a sauce: pizza sauce, marinara sauce, buffalo sauce, or BBQ sauce. Next, a shredded cheese: mozzarella, parmesan, cheddar, or feta. Now the fun part! Any toppings you want! You can also add spices like crushed red pepper, Italian seasoning, dried oregano, and fresh basil.
Pita Bread (4)
¾ cup pizza sauce
1½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Any toppings of your choice
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
Spread 3 tbsp of your pizza sauce on one side of each pita bread.
Sprinkle ¼ cup shredded mozzarella on top of the pizza sauce.
Add any topping you like. We used shredded chicken, spinach, red onions, and green and yellow peppers. Cut your toppings into small bite-sized pieces.
If desired, add some extra cheese on top of your toppings.
Place your pizzas on a parchment lined baking sheet bake at 400°F for 10 minutes. The timing may vary based on your oven.
Let the pizzas rest out of the oven for a minute or 2 before slicing and enjoying!
