This quick and easy, no-yeast butter naan recipe creates soft, fluffy flatbreads with a lightly crispy exterior in under 30 minutes! Perfect for when you are craving restaurant-style naan without the wait, this naan is made with a simple dough of flour, yogurt, and baking powder. Rolled out and cooked on a hot skillet, they puff up beautifully with a slightly tangy flavor that’s hard to resist and golden-brown spots that add a hint of smokiness. Brushed with melted butter and topped with fresh parsley, this homemade naan is irresistibly tender and perfect for scooping up your favorite curries like Butter Chicken.
4 cups flour
1 ¾ Greek Yogurt
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp shopped parsley, optional
Add the flour, yogurt, baking powder, and salt to a medium mixing bowl. Mix with a wooden spoon.
Transfer the dough to a clean, floured surfaced and knead the dough until a soft dough forms.
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.
Roll the dough into a ball and then use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a thin, flat circle. Use flour to stop the dough from sticking.
Heat up a pan on medium high heat for 3 minutes. When the pan is heated up, add a piece of dough and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the dough gets dark brown spots and forms bubbles. Cook all the pieces this way.
Serve hot with melted butter and chopped parsley on top.
