French toast is my all-time favorite breakfast! It's the perfect quick and easy meal in the morning, but still tastes absolutely delicious. It's so soft and fluffy on the inside and cooked till golden and crisp on the outside. French toast tastes so good on its own and also goes so well with maple syrup, fruit and powdered sugar. This recipe makes 3 slices, so it is great for when you are making breakfast alone. You can also easily alter this recipe to serve more people. This French toast will become a staple in your kitchen once you taste how good they are!
2 large eggs
¼ cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1tsp of cinnamon
1 tbsp white sugar
3 thick slices bread
2-3 tbsp butter
In a bowl, mix together eggs with milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar.
Add 1 tbsp butter to a frying pan over medium-high heat.
Soak a slice of bread in egg mixture and coat each side well. but be careful not to over-soak the bread as it will get soggy.
Place the bread onto the pan for about 2 minutes or until each side is golden-brown and crispy. Repeat this process with the remaining 2 slices of bread. Add more butter to the pan when needed.
We dusted our French toast with powdered sugar, drizzled with maple syrup, and topped it with blueberries before serving. You can use any topping you want.
